What types of tournaments are available?
You'll find all kinds of tournaments at PokerTime. These include, sit and go's, multi-table freerolls, multi-table buy-ins, and satellite tournaments where you can win entry into prestigious and lucrative land-based tournaments.
The sit and go tournaments are available around the clock - just pick a table and sit down. Others will soon join you and the tournament will begin.
Multi-table tournaments are scheduled every day - click here to view the current tournaments and tournament calendar.
How do I enter a tournament?
Sit and Go tournaments:
To join a sit and go tournament, simply open the poker room lobby, and click on "Sit & Go Tournaments" (under "Choose your game") to view the types of tournaments available. There are tournaments for every type of poker (Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, 7-Card Stud & 5-Card Stud). Each one has a different betting structure, buy-in and number of seats. To join a table, double-click a table in the list, or select one and click the "Join Table" button below the table list. You will then be taken to the table. Select your seat - as soon as all the seats are taken, the tournament will begin.
Multi-table tournaments:
To join a multi-table tournament, simply open the poker room lobby, and click on "Multi Table Tournaments" (under "Choose your game") to view the tournaments currently available, as well as the game type, buy-in requirement and the number of players already registered. You need to register for these tournaments. To do so, select the tournament you're interested in and click the "Tournament Lobby" button below the table list. This will take you to the lobby for that particular tournament where you will see all the details, including when registration starts, and when the tournament starts. To register for the tournament, click the "Join/Leave". You are then presented with the Buy-In dialogue box. Once you accept the buy-in you are registered for the tournament.
Remember to take note of the tournament starting time - login again a few minutes before the tournament starts and you will automatically be allocated a seat at one of the tables.
How does the tournament buy-in work?
In the list of tournaments in the poker room lobby, you will see a buy-in figure next to each tournament or tournament table - for example, $20 + $2. This figure represents the total amount you need to buy in to the tournament. The larger amount is allocated to the prize pool, while the smaller nominal amount goes to the house. This is standard practice in all poker tournaments, both online and land-based.
Where do I find the multi-player tournament rules?
Each tournament will have its own set of rules, which are available in the lobby of that particular tournament. Where there are specific terms and conditions, you will typically find these on the promotions page.
