Hard: 1. Aggressive and uncompromising play. 2. Referring to chips as money.

Head up: Playing against a single opponent.

Hit and Run: To play for a short time, make money and leave.

High Card: 1. The no-pair highest ranked single card; the lowest hand value 2. A one card draw between players for the highest card, usually used to settle decisions, similar to a coin toss.

High Society: Large denomination chips.

High Hand: The best ranking hand.

Hog: To take both the high and low ends of a split pot.

Hole Cards: Cards dealt face-down; pocket cards.

Horse: A player backed by someone else.
